How TetherKing works

You hit the ball. It tethers around the pole, recoils, and comes back to you in three seconds.

TETHER KING
The ideal cycle — a clean hit tethers about four times.
  1. Hit

You swing. The ball takes off around the pole.

  2. Tether

    It tethers around the pole.

  3. Recoil

    The ball recoils and untethers.

  4. Return

Three seconds after you hit it, it's back in front of you.

Bring the reps home.
Bury the excuses.

Serious hitters put in serious reps. TetherKing gives you hundreds of them in your own driveway — no cage, no machine, nobody pitching.

  • The ball comes back in three seconds. You swing, it tethers, it recoils back to you. Nothing to pick up in between.

  • No cage. No pitching machine. No partner. One player, one bat, as long as they want to stay out there.

  • Switch-hitting is built in. Step to the other side and send it back the other way.

  • Metal pole on a commercial sign base. The same base that holds a sign up in a parking lot — 175 pounds filled. Not plastic.

  • Sixty days to change your mind. MantisPro pays the return shipping.

Built for real reps

Hundreds of hits a session puts real load on the hardware. Here's what carries it.

  • The TetherKing pole, striped black and green, seated in its black commercial sign base on a concrete driveway

    A commercial sign base

The Junior and Advanced stand on a commercial sign base from IdeaShield. It arrives pre-filled: 175 lb filled, 29 lb empty, 22" × 22" × 22".

  • Close-up of the steel swivel joining the black woven cord to the blue latex tube, each end capped in black shrink tubing

A swivel that stops cord twist

The swivel between the woven cord and the latex tube keeps the cord from twisting.

  • A baseball with the redesigned black cap fitted into its side, resting on a countertop

A ball cap rebuilt after testing

A ballplayer knocked the ball off during testing. The cap was redesigned after that, and it's the one on every unit now.

Choose your system

The latex tube is the difference: a shorter tube for younger hitters, a longer one as bat speed grows.

Just the assembly — $97

25" red tube

The cord, latex tube and ball on their own. No pole or base, and it doesn't mount to one. A partner swings it overhead for the batter. Ships anywhere.

Looking for one that mounts to a pole? The Pro Sleeve System sets into the ground, and its sleeve fits any 3-inch pole. See the Pro Sleeve

Standing record — Michael Pfeiffer, founder

The King, a crowned baseball, with his eye closed

Wake me when you're ready.

The ball is the opponent.

How to take the crown

  1. Film your run in one unbroken take, with the count visible or called out loud.
  2. No cuts. A miss ends the streak.
  3. Post it with #BeatTheKing — if you pass 184, the record board changes hands.

It started on a business card

Michael Pfeiffer drew TetherKing by hand before there was a product — a pole, a tether, a ball, and someone swinging at it. Every unit sold today is built from that sketch.

He drew the mantis too. MantisPro is his company; the King is the ball you're trying to beat.

Our story

Michael's dad swung the ball for him to hit. That became the TetherKing assembly, and the assembly became the full system.

Questions

How does it work?

You hit the ball. It tethers around the pole, recoils, and comes back to you in about three seconds. Then you hit it again.

What's the difference between the models?

Start with how it's used. The Junior Portable and Advanced Portable stand on a weighted base you can move around the yard. The Pro Sleeve System sets into the ground, and its sleeve fits any 3" diameter pole. The Junior assembly has no pole at all: a partner swings it overhead for the batter. Between the two portables, the difference is the latex tube: a 25" red tube for ages 6–10 on the Junior, a 32" blue tube for ages 10–14 on the Advanced.

Where do you deliver?

Delivery and setup are free anywhere in the Phoenix metropolitan area, out to Queen Creek and Cave Creek. Outside the metro, contact us for a shipping quote.

What if it isn't for us?

You have 60 days from delivery. If the product is in fair condition, MantisPro pays the return shipping and you choose a replacement unit or a refund.
